NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dhundan functions in accordance with the objectives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the guidelines followed under the new CBSE affiliation.

The guiding principle of NSS, “Not Me But You”, reflects the spirit of selfless service and social responsibility. The NSS unit of the school works to instil this motto among students and encourages them to serve society with dedication and compassion.

Objectives of NSS

  • To promote the NSS motto “Not Me But You” and develop a strong sense of social responsibility among students.
  • To nurture values such as empathy, cooperation, discipline and leadership.
  • To motivate students to actively contribute towards community welfare and national development.

Major Activities

  • Cleanliness drives and campus improvement programmes.
  • Awareness campaigns on health, hygiene, environment and social issues.
  • Plantation drives and environmental conservation activities.
  • Participation in national programmes and community outreach initiatives.
  • Voluntary services during school and local community events.

Student Participation

Students are encouraged to actively participate in NSS activities and special camps. Through regular involvement, students learn the true meaning of the NSS motto “Not Me But You” and develop teamwork, leadership skills, civic sense and a commitment to social service, in line with CBSE’s vision of holistic education.
